HONEYWELL INTRODUCES WIRELESS PRESSURE TRANSMITTER FOR MONITORING AND CONTROL APPLICATIONS
22/10/2018 Honeywell Process Solutions
New SmartLine® wireless offering makes it easier and less costly to get data from plant processesHoneywell has introduced the SmartLine® Wireless Pressure Transmitter, which offers a flexible, scalable, secure and cost-effective solution for both pressure monitoring and control when combined with the company's robust wireless network technology. The enhancement and evolution to the highly successful XYR 6000 wireless transmitter enables users to choose the wireless protocol best suited to their specific process automation applications.
With its multi-protocol-capable OneWireless™ Network infrastructure, Honeywell is the first to support the two leading industrial wireless protocols - ISA100 Wireless™ and WirelessHART™ - giving customers more flexibility when implementing wireless systems. The SmartLine Wireless Pressure transmitter allows plants to use wireless for control, and seamlessly integrates with Honeywell's best-in-class Experion® control system.
"The key advancements of SmartLine Wireless Pressure are the result of Honeywell following our customers' desire to use wireless for targeted control applications," said Phil Ng, senior product manager for Honeywell's wireless field instruments. "The SmartLine platform removes the anxiety of wireless adoption by offering cost-effective and proficient transmitters that are compliant with the most capable industrial wireless standard and support both wireless measurement and control."
Honeywell's OneWireless Network and SmartLine Wireless Pressure solutions offer significant performance and cost advantages for both current and new users of industrial wireless technology by:
· Providing a robust wireless network with increased power, faster update rates, reduced infrastructure requirements and wider deployment options
· Incorporating additional noise reduction to improve performance in control applications
· Simplifying installation and commissioning
· Utilizing long-life commodity batteries
· Operating off 24-volt power, optionally, in the field
· Implementing proven, industry-best cybersecurity
Honeywell's modern wireless solution reduces capital, installation and lifecycle costs typically associated with traditional instrumentation. Its wireless platform is reliable, secure, scalable and easy to use, and interoperates with existing wireless installations to protect technology investments.
Today, industrial organizations require advanced instrument technology for applications ranging from wellhead monitoring, gas detection and tank level gauging to vibration monitoring. Honeywell's multiprotocol wireless network solution is easy to deploy, making it less costly to get data from various plant processes.
Honeywell designed its wireless system to allow customers to install a single high-performance network for process monitoring with the flexibility to add more critical applications, like control, if and when they are ready. Its single high-performance network allows customers currently utilizing XYR™ 6000 wireless transmitters to painlessly add SmartLine Wireless Pressure to these networks.
