How igus makes automated guided vehicles more fail-safe

Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) work in factories and warehouses around the clock, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. This week's video highlights where reliable and maintenance-free iglidur plain bearings, drylin linear systems and PRT slewing rings are being used in AGVs.

For lifting mechanisms, the drylin SLW is a cost-effective linear system that is completely maintenance-free. Key design features are its low-profile for compact spaces and precise adjustment.

iglidur Z plain bearings are a perfect fit for scissor lifts; the wear resistant material offers long service life even under heavy loads. Offering an excellent price/performance ratio, iglidur G bearings are well-suited for tipping mechanisms. Low friction iglidur J bearings in the self-aligning castors help AGVs move around easily, without the need for regular maintenance.

For turn tables, the ready-to-install iglidur PRT slewing ring bearing is resistant to dirt, dust and humidity and handles high cycle rates and loads. It is also available in an ultra-slim version, enabling AGV manufacturers to achieve a more compact design.
