Howco Group Receives Made in Sheffield Mark
08/01/2024 Howco
Metals manufacturer, Howco Group has been awarded the prestigious ‘Made in Sheffield’ mark in recognition of its decades-long presence in the city.
The firm, which employs more than 120 people at its Carbrook Street location, has been a stalwart of the Sheffield manufacturing scene for much of its history. It acquired 'Henry Whitham & Sons' in 2001 and continues to operate from that site to this day.
As an internationally recognised representation of quality and excellence, the ‘Made in Sheffield’ mark sets goods manufactured in the South Yorkshire city apart for both their point of origin and their maker’s manufacturing credentials.
With its foundations in an Act of Parliament in 1624, the Made in Sheffield designation is an instantly recognisable badge of honour and stamp of quality for any business located in the ‘S’ postcode area.
Andrew Marwood, Howco’s Director of Group Operations commented, “We’re proud to hold the ‘Made in Sheffield’ licence as an internationally recognised symbol of our commitment to quality and excellence. We have enjoyed a consistent presence in Sheffield for more than twenty years. Our site has a substantial inventory of material, vast CNC machining capacity, deep hole boring capabilities, a large heat treatment facility and a UKAS approved test laboratory. All of these complement the offerings from the rest of the Howco Group.”
Howco Group has an extensive inventory of material across the globe and superior manufacturing and processing capabilities, with ten sites in six countries.
