Hylec-APL Door Enclosures Offer Rugged IP65 Protection

Leading manufacture and supply specialist of electrical components, Hylec-APL, has launched a new series of patented door enclosures to complement its growing range of electrical housings. Manufactured by Hylec-APL's UK based manufacturing division, DE Controls, the robust enclosures feature IP65 protection, galvanised steel back plates and mounting brackets. The units are constructed from flame proof material and the enclosures can be used in wide variety of internal and external applications.The registered design range of door enclosures also includes door locks as standard and meets protection and combustible standards IP65 and IK08. The robust construction makes them suitable for use in external environments, including locations where they will be exposed to salty sea air. The enclosures have a wall thickness of between 3-3.5mm which provides a good level of protection from impact damage that is not catered for by other manufacturers designs.
There are eight sizes available with dimensions ranging from 200x300x130mm to 500x700x250mm; each comes as standard with a pre-assembled galvanised steel back plate, wall mounting brackets and one or two locks (depending on model) and a key for added security. The enclosures allow a wide standard operating temperature range of -20°C and 85°C and are constructed from UL approved ABS-HB flame retardant plastic. All products comply fully with ROHS and REACH standards.
Design options include a transparent polycarbonate door - available for all sizes - that allows for easy inspection of internal electronics in-the-field without compromising ingress protection. Hylec-APL also recommends its Kwik-Fix cable gland with 'snap-in' single component mounting to create a quick and effective cable entry option.
