Southampton, UK, 10 October 2013: i2O Water, the rapidly expanding Advanced Pressure Management technology company, has been named in the 2013 Global Cleantech 100, a list of the world's top 100 private companies working in clean technology. The Global Cleantech 100 list highlights promising private clean technology companies from around the world, focusing on those the industry believes are most likely to make the most significant market impact over the next 10 years.
i2O Water, included in the list for the second year running, has seen demand for its sophisticated Advanced Pressure Management technology continue to grow over the last year, driven by water utilities' environmental and efficiency needs.
Its technology is now used by 66 water utilities to optimise pressure in water distribution networks in 22 countries worldwide. The technology helps save over 100 million litres of water every day through reduced leakage and bursts, in addition to cutting energy consumption associated with distribution and reducing the carbon footprint of operating the distribution network.
Adam Kingdon, CEO and co-founder of i2O Water, comments: "We are delighted to be named amongst the most dynamic and innovative firms in the global clean technology sector for the second year running. Climate change and the need to ensure water supply keeps up with population growth are driving adoption of our technology as water utilities look to minimise clean water waste and improve operational efficiency."
The list was produced by Cleantech Group, a global market intelligence and consulting firm. 5,864 companies were nominated this year from 60 countries. These companies were weighted and scored to create a short list of 300 companies. These were then considered by an expert panel of investors, pioneers, leaders and veterans from the global cleantech community for the final 100.
Sheeraz Haji, CEO of Cleantech Group, comments: "The Global Cleantech 100 is a natural extension of our vision to help corporations and investors connect with innovation around the world. This list celebrates inspiring entrepreneurs, and serves as the industry standard on gauging where innovation is headed across key sectors."
