IChemE Safety Centre secures its first international industry partner

The Institution of Chemical Engineers Safety Centre (ISC) has expanded its global reach by securing its first international Industry Partner, MMI Engineering Limited (MMI).The Industry Partner category was only recently added to the ISC's suite of membership options after recognising that consultants, equipment suppliers and contractors play a vital role in process safety. Members in this category will be able to share their knowledge with Operating Partners on safety improvement projects initiated by the Centre.
MMI provides technical consulting and engineering services to enable effective risk management across a wide range of industries. These include oil and gas, petrochemical, nuclear, clean energy, utilities and infrastructure, government, aerospace, insurance, security and defence.
Established in 2001, MMI's aim is to provide specialised scientific, engineering, safety, and risk management services to its clients. It specialises in the management of man-made and natural hazards by the application of a blend of expertise drawn from a range of scientific and engineering backgrounds.
MMI employs over 90 professionals drawn from operations, design, academia and consulting backgrounds. Their expertise range from structural, process, mechanical, civil, petroleum and chemical engineering and are supported by physicists and mathematicians.
MMI's principle consultant Garry Law said that MMI Engineering welcomes the opportunity to join the ISC as an Industry Partner.
"We look forward to working closely with other members to make positive improvements in process safety through expert knowledge and experience sharing during ISC projects and events."
ISC director Trish Kerin said that MMI are a well known and respected consultancy company and we are very fortunate that they have joined.

The ISC is a multi company, industry lead consortium, focused on improving process safety by bringing diverse organisations to share and learn from each other.
