New to the igus range of stock bars is iglidur P210; this self-lubricating material can run at temperatures up to 160 degrees C and operate at a surface pressure of 50MPa. Available in 30mm diameter, the iglidur P210 material joins the range of stock bar materials offered with diameters of up to 100mm.The igus online Stock Bar Product Finder and Configurator gives complete design freedom. When selecting the material, designers can specify any special requirements - such as FDA approval, high resistance to chemicals or use underwater - and then enter the maximum surface pressure, upper long term application temperature and the lower application temperature. The Product Finder then advises the best material for use within the chosen application. Once the most appropriate material is selected, the Configurator allows designers to enter special bearing sizes or define custom component dimensions, which is then machined to size, inspected and delivered within 3 to 5 days of order placement. This is ideal for prototypes, test specimens and low volume requirements.
The igus stock bars have the same qualities and properties as 'from stock' iglidur bearings. They are lubrication and maintenance free, resistant to dust and dirt and have a low coefficient of friction. As the stock bar is made of regular iglidur materials, igus online tools such as the life calculator are also applicable.
