Leading polymer specialist, igus UK, will be showcasing its high performance triboplastic bearings, cables and energy chains at Southern Manufacturing 2013 show in Farnborough, on stand N24. Visitors to the stand will be able to see live demonstrations of its industry-leading maintenance-free plain, spherical and linear bearings as well as its energy chains and chainflex continuous-flex cables, and meet industry experts to discuss the latest innovations.
One of the main highlights at the igus stand is its proven range of drylin E actuators with polymer bearings and NEMA certified motors. This linear drive is lubricant- and maintenance-free, compact and extremely light and quiet. drylin E SAW-0630 linear axis is ideal for simple adjustments, feed movements and the handling of lightweight components. It is available with a trapezoidal or high-helix thread leadscrew and offers numerous pitches from 1.5 mm to 15 mm.
The leadscrew nuts are made of iglidur high-performance polymers optimised for lubricant-free operation over the entire lifetime. Almost all the components used are made of plastic or aluminium, which means the system is extremely light. The tribologically optimised polymer bearing gives excellent friction and wear values. The unit is built from stock components, individually configured to the required length, and delivered ready to fit in five to ten days.
Also on display will be CFRIP, an intelligent solution to strip back long lengths of cable both quickly and easily. With just a few steps, the outer jacket of a CFRIP cable can be opened like a zipper to the desired length by simply pulling the special tear strip. Electrical engineers and panel fitters can save 50% of the cable stripping time typically required using conventional methods, but also avoid the need for additional cable stripping tools.
Experts from igus UK will be on hand to provide advice and guidance on selecting energy chains, bearings and cabling assemblies for your own specific application. To arrange an appointment, please call Leanne Golding on +44 (0)1604 677240 or email at: lgolding@igus.co.uk
