International recognition for LC Automation

Mitsubishi Electric, a global leader in the production of factory automation equipment, has honoured a Blackburn business at an annual celebration at The Ritz in London.

LC Automation, a leading distributor of industrial products based on Shadsworth Business Park, was presented with a plaque in appreciation of being one of Mitsubishi Electrics biggest UK suppliers, and one of its largest distributors in Europe.

LC Automation has a high level of technical expertise across the Mitsubishi range, and continually champions Mitsubishi products to its customers.

Malcolm Chadwick, a director at LC Automation, said: "To be given this recognition by a world-renowned technological pioneer is a true accolade.

"Research and development is central to Mitsubishi's success, and ensures we are able to offer the latest technologies. We are proud to be able to offer our customers Mitsubishi products."

A key product in LC Automation's range is Mitsubishi's FX programmable logic controller (PLC) - small digital controllers which control machinery in manufacturing and industrial processes. Mitsubishi recently announced it had reached the milestone of shipping the 10 millionth FX PLC.

Chris Evans, a senior manager at Mitsubishi Electric said: "Our association with LC Automation as a key partner distributor goes back over many years and they are integral to our market strategy. They are able to offer added valued services such as technical support and this enables Mitsubishi to offer a comprehensive service to our customers. We congratulate them on their award."

Last year, LC Automation saw a 25% increase in turnover, as the company looked to supply growth industries. Managers at the company also completed an MBO following the retirement of a previous owner.
