IWM bin washers go high care

Fast efficient cleaning of 120 litre and 200 litre Eurobins - including the wheels - with total segregation of clean and dirty bins can achieved easily and reliably with the new EC20-HC high-care bin washer from Industrial Washing Machines (IWM). This makes the new machine an ideal choice for use in critical applications in the food manufacturing and preparation sectors.

The latest addition to IWM's popular and successful EC20 range of cabinet-style bin washers, the new EC20-HC is an exceptionally compact front-access machine with a double-leaf door system that has separate operating handles for the clean and dirty areas, and an interlocked carriage system that guards against accidental confusion of clean and dirty bins. The machine has also been designed to ensure that that bin wheels do not come into contact with the floor after washing, as the lifting platform is itself washed and sanitised.

To provide maximum versatility, EC20-HC bin washers can be supplied for either left-to-right or right-to-left clean-to-dirty flow, and they are available in both electrical- and steam-heated versions.

Other refinements in these innovative new machines, which can wash up to 20 bins per hour, include fully welded internal construction that eliminates dirt traps, a newly designed high-efficiency stainless steel wash jet system that requires minimal cleaning and maintenance, fully programmable wash cycles, and a duplicated operator interface that allow the machine to be controlled from either the dirty or clean area. Advanced chemical monitoring is incorporated as standard, and chemical sampling points can be provided as options.

Building on the proven IWM technology that has made the EC20 range of bin washers so successful, the new EC20-HC machines ensure efficient cleaning by fully inverting the bin and washing the inside with a high-velocity rotating spray manifold, while the outside is washed simultaneously with a full surround jetting system. Detergent usage and wash temperature are accurately controlled and continuously monitored. The washing process is followed by a hot rinse, typically at 85 ºC, with an option for dosing the rinse water with sanitising chemicals.

The new machines are equipped with a flexible control system that not only provides a high level of automation but also allows the wash and rinse cycles to be optimally matched to the user's requirements. Running costs and environmental impact are minimised by re-circulating the wash water from a heated tank via an efficient rotary filtration system, thereby reducing the need for water changes.

EC20-HC high-care bin washers make extensive use of stainless steel in their construction to ensure long life, and they feature a robust streamlined design that is not only hygienic, but also allows easy access for cleaning and maintenance. The machines are manufactured entirely in the UK and are available on short deliveries.
