Kate Mingay on Outstanding Contribution List

The Chemical Business Association (CBA), the voice of the chemical supply chain, is pleased to announce, Kate Mingay, long-standing Council member and Chair from 2021 to 2023, has been selected for inclusion in the list of women who have made an outstanding contribution to their Association.
The list is created by the Trade Associations Forum (TAF), Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and the Confederation of British Industry (CBI). It champions the achievements of women across the UK’s trade bodies, whilst encouraging the next generation of women within the both the association sector and their respective industries.
Mingay has had a long and successful career within the chemical sector. Following receipt of a first-class Materials Science with Management degree from Brunel University London, she spent ten years in various industry roles before co-founding Dakram Materials Ltd in 2003.
Eager to support the CBA and its initiatives, Mingay joined the Association’s Council in 2012 and the Executive Committee in 2018, becoming the CBA’s first female Chair in 2021.
During her tenure as Chair, she supported the CBA’s expanding outreach programme, not only across the chemical supply chain, but the wider chemical industry in the UK and internationally. This continues to be the case as the CBA increasingly focuses on offering highly effective outreach and engagement initiatives, seeking to highlight the chemical sector as an employer of choice.
In 2022 Mingay was actively involved in setting up the CBA’s Future Council, an initiative that engages with young people in the sector. She was also on-hand to support CBA CEO Tim Doggett with the launch and subsequent development of a wide ranging and reaching training and upskilling programme.
Mingay said: “I am honoured to be recognised as a part of this list of accomplished and experienced women, each a leading voice in their industries and who are fundamental in inspiring the next generation of female professionals into the Nation’s vital industries.”
Commenting on the announcement, CBA CEO Tim Doggett said, “Kate’s achievements throughout her long career speak for themself. It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with her, particularly through what has been such a transformational time for the CBA, and I am delighted that Kate’s contributions have been recognised in this way.”
