LB Foster Materials Handling rebrand for CI Logistics

As from March 1 2013, Leicester based CI Logistics will be known as LB Foster Materials Handling. The new name reflects the company's global heritage and underlines its ethos to be a leading supplier of materials handling solutions, both in the UK and internationally.In December 2010 CI's parent company, Portec Rail Products (UK) Ltd. was acquired by the American multi-national LB Foster, a leading manufacturer, fabricator and distributor of products and services for the rail, construction, energy and utility markets. Portec has since been rebranded as LB Foster Rail Technologies (UK) Ltd.
A distinctive new corporate identity for LB Foster Materials Handling will be rolled out across all marketing platforms. The company will also launch an innovative, web-responsive designed website which automatically reconfigures depending on the viewing device.
Gary Bale, managing director of LB Foster Materials Handling comments, "In our highly competitive marketplace brand matters. Adopting the LB Foster name aligns us closer with our parent company - bringing with it added recognition and a wealth of resources.
"It was always a vision of mine for our company to provide full turnkey materials handling packages incorporating more than just conveyors. With some of the recently completed projects for companies such as Diageo and Clipper this is exactly what we have achieved. Although we are still heavily involved in conveyors, the addition of 'Materials Handling' to our title better reflects our offering.
"Our parent company, LB Foster, has a five year strategic programme to increase turnover from $600m to $1bn. Although we are one of six divisions of the company in the UK, we will have an important part to play in this expansion plan. Our growth will come organically, via collaborations and acquisitions in the UK and abroad. This approach will help us achieve our five year goal of a 7% growth year on year."
