Long-distance control of infrared cameras

USB server Industry Isochron connects and converts

Optris's infrared cameras are the only cameras in the market to feature USB connection for easy handling. Acting as a USB to Ethernet adapter, the USB server Industry Isochron now makes it possible to bridge distances significantly longer than 20 meters between the PC and a PI series thermal imaging camera. "With this product we offer a reliable industrial solution, giving our customers even greater flexibility in using our USB cameras", says Dr.-Ing. Ulrich Kienitz, Optris GmbH's general manager.

The USB server Industry Isochron is a joint development of Optris GmbH and electronics components manufacturer Wiesemann & Theis of Wuppertal, Germany. It has been designed specifically for the optris PI 160, PI 400 and PI 450 infrared cameras. At a rate of up to 100 Mbit/s it can transmit even the high-resolution thermal imagery recorded at 27 Hz by the PI-4XX series. The USB server Industry Isochron also features remote configuration by web-based software. The device is compatible with USB 2.0 and can be powered via PoE or external voltage supply up to 48 VDC. It supports the TCP/IP protocols including routing and DNS. It is the ideal tool for automation solutions as the link with the PI camera is automatically restored on every system restart.
