LORIEN SHORTLISTED FOR LOW CARBON SUCCESS

A Burton based engineering design and project management company has been shortlisted for a leading environmental award for the second consecutive year.Lorien Engineering Solutions is one of four Midlands businesses shortlisted in the Low Carbon Business Growth category of the MEBC Business Success Awards 2013.
The MEBC (Midlands Environmental Business Company) is a not-for-profit organisation which promotes the business and economic benefits of sustainable development principles and the transformation to a Low Carbon society. It is the regional branch of the Business Council for Sustainable Development UK. The awards recognise companies which contribute to the low carbon economy.
Lorien has seen significant growth in the sustainability sector within the last two years, with a 90% increase in demand for its Carboneering® services. This in turn has led to 11 new full time positions within the business.
Lorien's business development manager Oliver Jenkins said: "We are increasingly carrying out projects to improve resource and energy efficiency, provide renewable energy, and reduce and recycle waste. The low carbon sector is a vital growth area for the business, and we are delighted to be recognised once again by being shortlisted in these awards."
Lorien works both UK-wide and internationally, providing engineering design, project management and technical consulting services to customers in the food, brewing, drinks manufacturing sectors, and life sciences discovery and manufacturing. It also assists companies to develop low-carbon strategies, and implement waste-to-wealth, sustainable energy, and waste-to-energy schemes.
