M&J Valve M-303 Slab Gate Valve: Assured safety and reliability for the Oil and Gas Industry

Built to API-6D standards, SPX FLOW's M&J Valve M-303 Slab Gate Valve is a well-proven, innovative solution that delivers versatility and assured safety to the oil and gas industry. The secure sealing of this device means it is a popular choice across applications such as mainlines, pump stations, tank farm manifolds and underground storage installations.

Through its M&J Valve brand, SPX FLOW offers a leading range of slab and expanding through-conduit gate valves, advanced engineering capability and in-depth understanding of oil and gas applications. Within its range of valves, the proven safety provided by the M-303 slab gate valve makes it a very popular choice for the oil industry.

With safety a primary focus in the valve design, the M-303 assures positive shut off and dynamic sealing at both high and low pressures through the use of a combination of spring loading and a floating gate within its design. Sealing at high differential pressures uses the floating slab gate which operates using the natural force of line pressure. Low pressure sealing is ensured through the use of a patented spring loaded seat ring design that guarantees a continuous, positive seal to prevent against pressure leaks in the system. Two independent sets of stem packing further provide redundancy within the stem design in the event of lower seal failure.

The M-303 valve is designed to offer versatility and ease of maintenance. It has an advanced fabricated body with a configuration that enables the use of different construction materials in wetted areas, making it ideal in corrosive services such as sour crude pipelines. It is also available with a wide choice of manual, electric, or hydraulic operators. The unit has a two-piece stem design with bolted packing retainer that enables quick and easy top entry maintenance in the field. On larger sizes (14" and up) a patented Cupola design enables the stem and top works of the valve to be removed and replaced while the valve is in service.

The M-303 is ideal for many application needs and is available in sizes ranging from 2" - 84" ANSI class 150-2500 with full thru-conduit passage. It offers optimum installation footprint through the use of double block and bleed technology. The design is also available as a reverse acting valve that uses fail close actuators, and is ideal for use in ESD systems.

SPX FLOW offers long experience in valve design and field expertise within the oil and gas industry. A continuous program of research and development means it provides leading technical solutions that meet and exceed the standards and expectations required by its customers. The well-proven, innovative design of the M&J M-303 valve is just one example of how SPX FLOW designs and engineers its solutions to meet the exacting safety and reliability demanded by the oil and gas industry.
