MORGAN TUCKER MAKES 'EASY' WORK OF TRANSPORT PLANNING FOR GLOBAL HOTEL CHAIN

LEADING national consulting engineers Morgan Tucker have provided online holiday giant easyHotel.com with transport and logistical advice at three of its new flagship sites in the UK.easyHotel.com appointed London-based Morgan Tucker to provide transport planning documents and advice for three of it's city centre 'super-budget' hotels in Manchester, Liverpool and London.
All three of the sites - in Old Street in London, Dale Street in Manchester and Castle Street in Liverpool - are surrounded by busy roads but don't have any parking facilities, which was the first challenge Morgan Tucker faced when offering transport advice.
Transport planner at Morgan Tucker Rosie Nolan said: "It has been really interesting working with easyHotel on these three new flagship sites, as each has posed its own challenges.
"Each hotel will be 'car free'. Therefore our task was to look at sustainable transport options for guests, such as trains and buses, and also advising easyHotel to install cycle parking at each site.
"We then provided reports estimating the expected number of guests and the resulting number of transport trips generated for each site, as well as factoring in deliveries, drop offs and other vehicular needs for the hotel."
The three hotels vary in size, with the Manchester site offering 116 rooms, the Liverpool hotel 77 rooms and the London hotel 100 plus rooms.
Rosie added: "The hotels are definitely exciting additions to the three cities and I've really enjoyed working for the client on this project. Planning applications are about to go in for the Liverpool and Manchester sites."
