Association of Noise Consultants reward best acoustic practitionersUK, JUNE 2013 The Association of Noise Consultants (ANC) has launched a new annual awards scheme, offering entrants the chance to win a state-of-the-art sound level meter, donated by Brüel & Kjær.
During the conference, taking place on Tuesday 8th October in Birmingham's Crowne Plaza hotel, this particular prize will be awarded to the winner of the Brüel & Kjær Award for Best Application of Environmental Noise Measurement Data category.
ANC's new awards scheme aims to promote and recognise excellence among acoustic consultants in the United Kingdom. During this inaugural presentation, entries from ANC members will be assessed by a panel of judges including their peers and industry sponsors to determine those that have made an outstanding contribution in their field.
As well as the category sponsored by Brüel & Kjær, there are several more award sections including Architectural Acoustics, Building Services Acoustics and Sound Insulation Design.
Brüel & Kjær's European Sales Director, Christophe Sinsou said: "We are proud to support ANC's annual awards, especially in the category that rewards the hard work of today's environmental acoustic consultants. We wish all the entrants the best of luck on the night and look forward to an enjoyable evening.â€
ANC Awards Task Force chairman, Ed Clarke said: "ANC member companies are staffed by teams of unsung heroes whose diligence, dedication and application bring complex engineering acoustics principles to bear on real life problems. As a professional body we should do more to recognise and reward excellence - and gain inspiration from the good news stories and accomplishments in our daily consultancy work. The ANC awards will provide this opportunity and a platform for engagement with key external contacts, sponsors and stakeholders.â€
