Precision engineering component supplier, R. A. Rodriguez, is steadily making a name for itself in factory automation. As the UK distributor of IEF Werner linear motion systems and Universal Robots robotic arms, the company certainly has a good foundation of products to provide highly cost-effective, application specific systems. This is underpinned by the company's wide applications know-how and that of the man who is heading up this new division of the R. A. Rodriguez business.Andrew Mason who was previously responsible for sales in the south has now been appointed Automation Sales Manager. A production engineer during the earlier part of his career, Andrew has a thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and in particular, production programming.
"R. A. Rodriguez has a lot to offer companies that are adopting automation in order to be more cost-competitive," Andrew explains. "Our product programme allows us to provide OEMs, systems integrators and manufacturers with standard products that can be flexibly combined to provide tailored solutions." The scope of the R. A. Rodriguez service extends from component supply through to complete turnkey manufacture.
The IEF Werner range incorporates manually adjusted slides and programmable axes through to palletising systems. Products are widely used throughout industry from highly precise scientific applications to automation in semiconductor, food, pharmaceutical and automotive component production. The Universal Robot robotic arm is a benefit to any manufacturer as it provides easy and instant automation for a variety of tasks.
Based in Reading, Andrew Mason is now responsible for automation sales in UK and Ireland; his successor in the post of Southern Sales Manager is Darren Reynolds
