New GE iPhone Application Allows Quick and Easy Moisture Conversions

Billerica, MA USA 15 June 2012. A new, free iPhone application from the Sensing business of GE Measurement & Control gives engineers, technicians and students the ability to perform helpful moisture conversions with a touch of the finger. The Moisture Calculator converts known dew point and known pressure to PPMv (parts per million, volume basis) for ideal gases, and dew point and temperature to RH (relative humidity). Users can choose their temperature and pressure settings.

John Kerney, product general manager, Gas & Moisture at GE, says, "Moisture conversions are often necessary in the field when comparing moisture readings from different instruments. While many of our products offer a wide range of measurement units, instrument technicians will encounter other analyzers with a limited selection of units. Performing conversions by hand can be time-consuming and often prone to error, even when carried out using laptops, slide rules or nomographs. This new App is extremely simple and provides accurate and reliable information. The new Moisture Calculator app is yet another example of the free applications we are developing to help our customers access useful information through mobile devices."
