New iPad/iPhone App Allows 3D Views of GE Measurement & Control Products

Provides In-Depth, Interactive Insight Into Inspection, Monitoring and Sensing SolutionsBILLERICA, Ma.-€â€March 19, 2013-€â€A new iPad/iPhone app from GE Measurement & Control allows existing and potential customers to take an in-depth, 3D look at some of the key products in the company's wide portfolio. Viewers can inspect products from all angles and zoom, spin and measure using the touchscreen control of an iPad or IPhone, without the need for an Internet connection. It is also possible to explore inside compartments, review different configurations or options and be informed of product features and benefits. Some product models also include animations to explain how they work.
"This is an exciting innovation in the way we provide product information," explains Marcelo Prado, marketing leader for Measurement & Control. "Customers can now have a comprehensive look at our products, virtually, as opposed to visiting an exhibition or having a visit from a sales engineer, saving time and money."
Currently, the new app is confined to certain key products in the company's condition monitoring, inspection technologies, measurement & sensing and control solutions businesses but it will be more widely extended in the near future.
