New portable videoscope from Ultrafine offers easy standalone inspection

With its miniature tip-mounted video camera and touch screen display, the new MicroEye Mobile videoscope from Ultrafine Technology enables easy internal inspection in the field. Its compact, lightweight design makes it easy to transport and suitable for almost any application area.

The unit has a 4.1 mm diameter probe with an adjustable LED light source in its tip. The forward looking camera has a wide 120 degree field of view, with two way tip articulation of +/- 160 degrees.

A large, integral 8.4" touch screen enables easy viewing of the high resolution images generated by the MicroEye Mobile's advanced optics. An extensive range of controls is accessed via the easy-to-operate on-screen menu. In addition, a headset can be plugged in to enable the operator to record comments to the video during the inspection process.

Probes are available with a 1m or 2m long tungsten braided cable, with an ergonomic handle with two buttons for image capture and for progressively increasing LED brightness.

With applications in a wide range of industrial sectors, the videoscope is particularly useful in aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), race engines, large diesel engines and gas engine inspection.

"Although the MicroEye Mobile is very competitively priced, it has features not seen on many more expensive instruments, such as its relatively large screen, light weight and the headset for recording comments," said Ultrafine's general manager, Vicky Wright.

Saved images and videos can be easily transferred to a computer via the supplied SD memory card. The integrated battery lasts for two hours between charges and the unit can operate from a mains supply if required.

The MicroEye Mobile weighs only 1.5 kg and can be hung from the neck in the operating position using the neck strap supplied.
