New Radiometer from Intertronics simplifies validating and monitoring of critical UV-curing processes

Intertronics, with sales partner DYMAX, have released the new ACCU-CAL™ 150 - a simple to use radiometer which offers accurate, repeatable measurement of UV light. The increasing popularity of UV cure materials, from potting compounds through adhesives to protective coatings in high technology manufacturing, brings into focus the importance of reliable, regular calibration of the UV light sources involved, which is where the ACCU-CAL™ 150 simplifies both validation and monitoring.

The use of radiometers in application processes is understood to be critical - initially in the establishment of process parameters and then to ensure that performance is maintained within the required limits. The radiometer thus facilitates readjustment of the light source as degradation takes place over its service lifetime, so as to ensure consistent high levels of production quality with reduced scrappage and improved rates of throughput.

The ACCU-CAL™ 150 can measure UV light up to 10 W/cm2 emitted from stationary light-curing flood lamps or lamps used in conveyor based processes, and can be used to determine intensity (measured in mW/cm2) or total energy as derived from intensity and exposure time (measured in mJ/cm2).
