New sizing & Selection tool enables designers to quickly size & select the optimal linear guide for every applicationWeb-based configuration tool enables users to quickly configure, customise and select optimised round or square rail linear guides, with outputs that simplify and speed the machine design process
22.08.2013, WOLFSCHLUGEN, GERMANY Thomson introduces Linear MOTIONEERING®: Linear Guide Components. The latest addition to the company¹s robust family of Linear MOTIONEERING and other design tools, Linear MOTIONEERING: Linear Guide Components enables OEM and factory automation users to optimise machine design and operation by identifying the optimal configuration of Round or Square Rail linear guide components based on application or product attributes. Users can choose a linear guide solution based on their application requirements or configure a solution based on the components they know they need, get a quote and download customised 3D models to simplify and accelerate the design process.
"Thomson's suite of Linear MOTIONEERING tools make choosing the right product for an application simple by offering two different workflows one based on application attributes and another based on product attributes," says Jonathan Wray, Product Line Manager, Linear Bearings and Guides. "With Linear MOTIONEERING: Linear Guide Components, users can either enter applications attributes and the tool will deliver the recommended Round or Square Rail linear guide components to satisfy specific requirements; or, for users who know the components needed, they simply select product attributes to quickly configure their solution."
Outputs include a complete orderable bill of materials (BOM), customised 3D models of the entire assembly of components, a printable application / solution data sheet, estimated list prices and an option to request a quick net price. Both application and product workflows also enable users to configure square rail but joints and full-featured round rail special machining.
