NEW TURBOMACHINERY GROUP (TMG) PROVIDES DEDICATED SUPPORT TO MIDDLE EAST REGION

John Crane Middle East FZE has announced the launch of the company's new Turbomachinery Group which will provide turbomachinery customers across the region with greatly increased support capabilities. Representing another step in John Crane's programme to increase its presence in this important market, the new Group will provide unparalleled access to the company's wealth of expertise on all types of turbomachinery applications.

From its base in Dubai, the Group will make access to that turbomachinery expertise faster and easier than ever before. It will focus on various areas with the overall aim of improving response times to customers' service, failure investigation and technical issues. It will use a wide variety of tools, including site surveys, seal system reviews and product health checks, to significantly improve reliability for customers. The Group will also manage complete turnkey seal retrofit projects, handling every aspect from the review of the existing system through to final connections, tie-ins and ongoing support for the new installation.

"This represents a significant step forward, both for John Crane and for our Middle East customers," said Ruben Alvarez, Managing Director, John Crane Middle East and Africa. "Our intention is to become the automatic first choice in the market by providing customers with the very best products, support and service available. Our strategy is to work in partnership with each of those customers and the creation of the Turbomachinery Group is an example of that strategy being translated into action."

The scope of John Crane's abilities and service facilities in the Middle East will be steadily expanded over coming months. This will include the creation of one of the world's largest state-of-the-art dry gas seal test rigs and a customer viewing suite, which will be built alongside John Crane's existing facility in Dubai. These new facilities will allow John Crane to help reduce average lead times by a significant margin and provide local support to customers through service agreements on critical equipment. An emergency repair service for critical dry gas seal repairs will also be contractually available via the Group.

The creation of the Turbomachinery Group supports John Crane's aim of enhancing the performance and efficiency of its customers' operations through its support network. It also complements various other recent developments in John Crane's Middle East service and support capabilities. These include the opening of a significantly expanded new Headquarters, Manufacturing and Service Centre in Dammam, Saudi Arabia (which is equipped with dry gas seal facilities), plus a new first-point dry gas seal strip and inspection capability at the recently-expanded Service Centre in Qatar.
