NEWEY & EYRE & CEMBRE TO CUT THE CONFUSION ON CRIMPING WITH NEW ROADSHOWS
16/04/2013 Newey and Eyre
In response to growing customer demand, Newey & Eyre has joined forces with leading cable connector company, Cembre to host a series of roadshows giving expert advice on crimping best practice. The roadshows follow on from mounting concerns over the huge variety of connectors and crimping tools now available in the electrical and OEM market. The problem lies in the fact that the vastness of choice is making it difficult for contractors to ensure the correct connector is 'matched' to the conductor leading to implications over the performance and safety of electrical installations. Added to this, if a system isn't matched correctly it will fail to meet BS7609.
In response, market leader on crimping tools, Cembre is embarking on a series of roadshows to raise awareness on the issue which will take place at Newey & Eyre branches covering the breadth of the country this year.
Successfully launched this March, at each roadshow the Cembre sales engineer team will be out in force offering technical support and advice on crimping best practice in accordance with BS7609, while also demonstrating the suitable products available.
Mark Lewis, sales manager at Cembre, comments: "Although their significance can sometimes be overlooked, the choice of connector and lug, together with the matching tools and die sets, can have a significant impact on the integrity of an installation. However, specification has become more difficult with so many options now available.
"As such, working with Newey & Eyre, we specifically developed these roadshows in order to raise awarenesss and demonstrate what is best practice for customers. Having already carried out a number of roadshows, the response so far has been fantastic, with many contractors saying the advice received will change the way they work in the future."
Luke Biddle, marketing manager at Newey & Eyre, comments: "As a company with a vested interest in our customers, we are always looking for opportunities to provide expert support and advice to help make their lives easier. We are therefore delighted to have Cembre on board to provide assistance on what is becoming a growing issue and welcome as many customers to come along as possible."
