The Energy Event offers organisations a one stop solution to low-carbon manufacturing and processing options, fine tuning energy usage and costs and increasing efficiency. Not only does the show offer a chance to meet more than 150 exhibitors addressing a wide range of energy challenges and attend the world class conference programme, it's also an opportunity to debate and discuss with experts in the industry. Renowned physicist Professor Brian Cox and communications guru Alastair Campbell will present the picture from a universal and political perspective. It's a breadth of focus well suited to the modern engineer.

The full conference programme for this year's show boasts more sessions than last year, with more industry thought leaders, more interaction, more case studies and more essential debate across four theatres: Energy Insight Conference, Energy Information Theatre, ESTA Theatre and Hosted Content Theatre. GAMBICA will be talking about motor efficiency and the business case for investing in better controls. The conferences will examine the issues and concerns facing energy buyers and managers and the challenges of reducing costs and risks now and in the future, which will also be very beneficial to the manufacturing and process industry sector. Energy Information Theatre is packed with case studies from energy users such as Wales and West Utilities who secured savings of more than £2 million and accurate monitoring systems through an integrated energy management approach. The keynote speakers will offer some compelling guidance on current thinking and some frank views: James Woudhuysen, Professor of Forecasting and Innovation at De Montford University, will explain why he predicts that power cuts are coming and why subsidies don't work.
ESTA Theatre is curated by the Energy Services and Technology Association (ESTA), whose seminars are designed with energy managers in mind to offer a basic understanding of principles, awareness of policy issues and effective implementation to produce savings. It also focuses on maintenance and management costs, which will help understand how to bring energy costs down. Richard Hipkiss, chairman of ESTA, Sarah Beacock, professional affairs director from the Energy Institute and Kevin Jackson, development manager from the Inenco Group will be helping delegates 'Put the 'management' into energy management'. In this session they will be discussing the practical implementation of ISO50001 energy management systems, registering as professional energy consultants and also be delivering a procurement masterclass which is not to be missed!
Energy Insight Conference will cover debate around the issues that are crucial to professionals who are responsible for energy purchasing, carbon reduction policies and practices within their organisations. It will be chaired on the first day by Daisy McAndrew, ITV News special correspondent. Speaker highlights include Philip Lowe, Director General - Energy at the European Commission, talking about the investment needed to meet European electricity demand.
The afternoon sessions are curated by the Major Energy Users' Council and will include discussions about Britain's decarbonisation and the role and effect of bureaucracy on energy efficiency.
Hosted Content Theatre will feature presentations hosted by a mixture of associations and exhibitors including Waterwise, Carbon Clear and npower. The seminars will cover water efficiency, energy procurement and a live energy debate.
