Portescap's Ultra EC™ Brushless DC Mini Motors have been recognized with a Golden Mousetrap Award in the Automation and Control: Motors and Mechanical Motion category. The annual awards are sponsored by Design News to recognize and celebrate the companies, products and people energizing North American design, engineering and manufacturing. Winners were announced at the Golden Mousetraps Awards ceremony on February 9, 2016 at the Anaheim Marriott.Portescap's Ultra EC platform is comprised of three product lines that address specific application performance requirements for high speed, high torque or a delicate balance of both. All Ultra EC motors utilize Portescap's patented U coil design. This innovative coil technology allows two-pole motors to deliver 30% more torque (compared to the same size motor with a conventional coil design) and substantially reduces lower iron losses, allowing for greater efficiency and cooler operation.
