Power resistor specialist supports client with product training
06/07/2015 Cressall Resistors
Specialist power resistor manufacturer Cressall offered one of its customers the chance to sip from the company's century-old fountain of knowledge with a bespoke training service. Cressall has more than 100 years experience designing and manufacturing resistors, load banks and harmonic filters. The company can offer a training package to help clients use Cressall load banks effectively and efficiently.Training comprises of a short overview presentation that includes a synopsis of relevant Cressall product ranges, followed by a detailed overview of the electrical equipment supplied to the customer.
However, the majority of the service is catered towards hands-on training with the supplied equipment. This gives customers working experience with new apparatus, safe in the knowledge a Cressall expert is present should they have questions.
Cressall recently supplied Pickerings Plant, a privately owned plant hire company with an AC100 portable load bank for testing the diesel generators it hires out. A comprehensive training was also given to staff to encourage correct usage and maintenance of the AC100.
Load banks are devices that accurately mimic operational electrical loads of instruments - such as generators - to test running efficiency. They range from small portable loads for testing petrol generators to multi-megawatt high voltage load banks for large diesel generators and gas turbines.
"At Cressall, we've always paid particular attention to customer after sales care, whether it's seeking feedback on products or answering queries," explained Mark Templeman, sales engineer at Cressall. "Our new training service is merely an extension of this.
"Being able to impart our knowledge directly to customers is both rewarding and incredibly important. This service not only facilitates a good working relationship, but also provides us with the opportunity to demonstrate how to get the best out of Cressall products. Our recent work with Pickerings is a good example of this."
The training service includes detailed product manuals and trainees also receive a certificate proving that they've undertaken Cressall training.
