11/08/2011 PROjEN Plc
PROjEN PLC, a specialist engineering project management company, based in Preston Brook, Cheshire is pleased to announce that Alison McKay who is employed by PROjEN as a DSEAR/ATEX Consultant presented a paper at IChemE Hazards XX11 Symposium in April 2011. The paper has since been published in the June issue of the Loss Prevention Bulletin. The Loss Prevention Bulletin is the major source of safety case studies for the process industries. We all acknowledge the importance of reporting incidents and near misses within our own companies - readers of the Loss Prevention Bulletin also gain the opportunity to learn safety lessons from other companies.
The paper 'Fire and explosion hazards with thermal fluid systems' aims to inform people about fires and explosions when handling heat transfer fluids. Any industry involved in heating fluids will benefit from this expert knowledge as such explosions have resulted in a number of deaths incurred when people don't know how to handle them properly.
PROjEN has considerable experience in determining hazardous areas for a wide range of processes, including systems handling natural gas and using the recognised standards. PROjEN also has extensive experience of carrying out DSEAR Risk Assessments to determine the level of fire or explosion risk and making recommendations to reduce the risk.
