Proskills strengthens industry ties with Egypt.

Over the past three years Proskills and its National Skills Academy for Materials, Production and Supply has supported skills organisations and industry in Egypt with a range of skills development services supported by the British Council's Skills For Employability programme.One such partnership has been with the Enterprise Training Partnership (ETP) Petra Print and Media, who are a sector skills organisation set up to support the print and media industries with appropriate skills programmes in much the same way as Proskills.
The initial support provided by Proskills helped Petra develop their own skills strategy and business plan. Three years on and Petra have gone from strength to strength, with innovative programmes that:
 Have helped to get people into work
 Provided new and updated technical print and media training
 Seen skills standards developed and used
 Given employers a mechanism to ensure they get the training their workforce needs
"Ongoing activity between Petra and Proskills Global is very exciting. The fact that we are still working on innovative new ideas to build skills after 3 years of working with Petra shows that our partnership is stronger than ever and that's why we thought we would cement it through the signing of this partnership agreement." Said Jonathan Ledger, Managing Director, Proskills UK Group.
"We are about to embark on a whole new journey that will see us work on more skills programmes with Petra but not just in Egypt. We have plans afoot for new projects involving South Africa and other Middle East and North Africa countries. Petra is a great partner and are so aligned to what we do for the UK based Print industry that it makes sense to combine our efforts to make even more impact".
On Thursday 27th March 2014, Petra and Proskills signed a new partnership agreement. This will see both organisations specifically working on:
-€¢ Development of skills standards for different sectors
-€¢ Development of a comprehensive training program for teachers and/or instructors by highly qualified local and/or international experts or master trainers
-€¢ Upgrading training courses in specialised areas beneficial to all by certified training providers.
-€¢ Creating, selecting and upgrading of current and potential training centres, providers and colleges

The partnership agreement between Proskills and Petra was signed in London in the presence of: David Llewellyn (Craven College), Afshan Baksh and Alf Desire (Harrow College), George Nubar Simonian (Petra).
