Retex UK, a leading manufacturer of enclosures for electronic equipment, has released its latest product in the form of the Series 68 range, a high impact, diecast enclosure which features IP68 rated protection. The new range is made from aluminium alloy and is well suited to outdoor applications where increased protection is required both from atmospheric conditions as well as impacts. The new range consists of six sizes of enclosure. Each is equipped with a neoprene seal as standard, which offers excellent sealing properties in a wide temperature range, from -40 degrees C to 130 degrees C. For those expecting the enclosure to be exposed to temperatures outside this range, an optional silicone seal is available on request which will extend the operating range to -60 degrees C up to 200 degrees C.
As part of the excellent protection and anti-corrosion package, the Series 68 enclosures are available in natural aluminium colour, as well as powder coated in black or grey. In addition, other powder coated colours are available on request as well as cathodic dip coatings; which provide effective and long lasting corrosion and chemical resistance.
The lids are held in place by the stainless steel M4 pins which are also included. Inside the enclosure there are a number of M4 fixing points as well as an earth terminal, to ensure correct earthing practice is maintained. The range also includes enclosure accessories such as mounting plates, DIN rails for retaining equipment and external wall mounting brackets.
Alan Lewis, Business Development Manager for Retex UK, comments: "This new range of enclosures provides excellent protection qualities for electronic equipment and it is ideal for applications where shielding is required against electromagnetic interference (EMI) or radio frequency interference (RFI)."
