Water activity in perishable foods and pharmaceutical products has a significant influence on their shelf life. It has a determining effect on the quality of a product, its stability, taste, aroma and other properties. Rotronic offers a complete range of water activity analysers and probe types that provide high precision measurements in typically less than five minutes. Calibration is easily performed to confirm sensor performance. Probes can be exchanged rapidly when calibration is due; no adjustment is required (digital interface).Rotronic announces the HygroClip2 version of its laboratory grade water activity analyser with AirChip3000 digital technology - the HygroLab C1. The bench top display instrument has four interchangeable probe inputs enabling sensing stations and insertion probes to be connected for simultaneous Aw measurements to indicate product quality. All HygroClip2 probes have a screw-in connector for secure interface.
A wide range of product samples in the pharmaceutical, food and many other industries can be analysed, without lengthy preparation, in typically less than five minutes using the AW Quick function. The Standard method is also available. The useful audible alarm confirms that a measurement has been completed. HW4 software (FDA 21 CFR Part 11 compliant) is included enabling remote monitoring on a PC (via Ethernet or USB interface) with charting and data recording functions.
The HygroLab C1 is available in a SET that includes the bench top display Aw analyser, HW4 validated software, sensing station, sample holder (14/40 mm deep), sample liners and humidity standards to enable users to check sensor performance.
