RS Components introduces lightweight metal-free safety shoes

Stylish protective boots and trainers look more like high-street fashion than industrial workwearRS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc, a global multi-channel provider of industrial and electronic products and solutions, has partnered with Himalayan Workwear of Leicester, UK, to offer the new #GOwork range of lightweight safety footwear. #GOwork is an innovative metal-free footwear range with the look and feel of standard high-street trainers and boots, designed to appeal to workers of all ages and genders as well as health and safety professionals.
Himalayan has a long history of designing and manufacturing visually appealing, keenly priced safety footwear using high-tech materials and styling. The metal-free, antistatic #GOwork range features six distinctive designs, all with protective fibreglass reinforced toecaps, flexible composite midsoles and moisture wicked Airtex linings.
#GOwork FlyKnit is a selection of lightweight composite trainers, with breathable fly knit fabric uppers. The 2D non-slip polyurethane (PU) soles are heat resistant up to 200°C. #GOwork FlyKnit safety trainers come in sizes from UK3 (EU36) to UK16 (EU51) and weigh just 510g.
#GOwork Urban oil and fuel resistant ankle boots feature water repellent waxy Nubuck leather uppers and non-slip rubber-phylon soles, heat resistant up to 300°C. Sizes are from UK3 (36) to UK13 (48), and the boots weigh 560g. #GOwork Vintage boots offer similar specifications with a higher-topped, more casual styling.
The #GOwork Electro series offers trainer-style shoes with UV stabilised breathable mesh uppers, 200°C heat resistant 2D non-slip PU soles, and energy absorbing heels. Sizes are UK3-16 and the shoes weigh 520g.
#GOwork Storm safety boots boast full-grain waterproof leather uppers and a 300°C heat resistant multi-density all-terrain outsole, while StormHi 8" versions add extra ankle support. Sizes are UK6-13 and the boots weigh 630g.
Finally, #GOwork Bounce safety trainers are designed for maximum comfort and wellbeing and minimum fatigue: a memory foam heel insert known as Ultimate Energy Return (UER) absorbs shocks that might otherwise impact upon the heels, legs and lower back. The uppers are made from a breathable heavy-duty fabric, the multi-density soles are 300°C heat resistant, sizes are from UK3 to12, and the shoes weigh 525g.
Himalayan #GOwork safety shoes come in a wide range of colours, from subdued tones such as brown, tan, grey, honey, navy and black, to more eye-catching red, blue, lime, yellow and white options. They are available now from RS in the EMEA region.
