Sara Loading Bay Specialists will be demonstrating the new Rapid Protect 300 on stand 86 at the Southern Manufacturing exhibition held in Farnborough on the 16th and 17th of February. The industrial door and loading bay equipment specialist's technical sales team will be available to talk about the company's wide range of products, but the key focus of the show will be the Rapid Protect machinery protection doors, with a fully operational Rapid Protect 300 demo model on the stand. The Rapid Protect 300 forms part of the range of machinery protection doors available from sara LBS for internal and external use. Machinery protection doors are an effective safety measure for industrial areas that provide protection for personnel as well as machines. They enable a rapid switch from complete isolation of a production stage to easy access in a matter of seconds; providing protection from flying sparks, welding splatter etc. without impeding operational efficiency. Rapid Protect doors have a failsafe switch in the doors column which detects when the door is fully closed, this prevents the machine from operating when the door is open.
Ed Wilks, Operations Manager for sara LBS, comments: "There are many environments in the workplace where certain areas need protection. This could be down to the operations that take place within them being potentially hazardous to passersby or machinery that needs to be sheltered from external environments. The Rapid Protect series provides the required protection while also delivering high operating speeds and reliability to make access an un-halted as possible. Visitors to the exhibition will be able to see one of these doors in action and speak to sales engineers about the ideal solution for their applications."
Designed for internal use, the Rapid Protect 300 comes as standard with a noise reducing RollTex curtain, with optional alternatives including transparent PVC with coloured safety stripes and flame retardant NormaTex with anti-UV welding windows. The framework is constructed from aluminium with the motor positioned on either the right or left, depending on the suitability of the door's location. The doors are constructed to EN ISO 12100 and EN 1088 standards and can be designed to fit most factory standards.
The doors are available with sara's patented MCC Vector Control System that delivers smooth acceleration and operation and reduces wear. This allows the Rapid Roll 300 to reach operation speeds of up to 2.4 m/s and gives operators the chance to programmes separate opening heights for different cargo passing through. Sara's unique non-contact safety beam is also available, providing protection to staff and machinery by automatically returning the door to a fully opened position when it detects an obstacle.
Sara's range of machinery protection doors includes doors suitable for most locations and environments; including the Rapid Protect 2000, for external doorways. This is constructed with galvanised steel door frames and aluminium door slats - with optional transparent polycarbonate available - to provide tough protection from external hazards, such as high winds or knocks from vehicles. It is also available with the MCC Vector Controls System, ensuring that it has a long operating life and outstanding reliability.
