SATO launches Linux and Mac OS X drivers for thermal printers

SATO, a global leader in barcode printing, labelling, and EPC/RFID solutions, has launched new SATO CUPS Drivers which enable customers to easily print labels from Linux and Mac OS X systems to its printers. As a result of extending the compatibility to include these two operating systems, users can benefit from greater flexibility and integrate printing seamlessly into their computing system for simple and convenient support of printing needs.

Developed in response to requirements of the rapidly growing Linux and Mac communities across many industries from transport & logistics to warehousing, manufacturing, retail and healthcare, these SATO CUPS Drivers are currently available for the GZ4e, CL6e, CG2/CG4 and M84Pro series printer models. SATO is committed to making its printers accessible to users of all types of platforms and expects to add more printer models in the future.

The SATO CUPS Drivers easily integrate into the Linux-based PC or Mac set-up for general purpose printing functions using the CUPS printing system. The driver currently supports the following major Linux distributions: Red Hat Like system (ex.Fedora), Debian system (ex.Ubuntu), and tar.gz for generic distribution installations.
