SCHAD appoints Oliver Sturrock as Chief Technology Officer

SCHAD Ltd, the engineering mobility specialist, has further enhanced its leadership team with the appointment of Oliver Sturrock as Chief Technology Officer.

Responsible for the continued development of EXTEND7000, SCHAD's mobile SCADA and maintenance application, Oliver Sturrock leads a team of mobile developers based in the UK and Germany. He also leads the pre-sales and customer services groups.

Oliver Sturrock is a highly successful entrepreneur and has 12 years' experience building teams supporting the creation of mobile applications. Prior to joining the management team at SCHAD, Oliver Sturrock held management positions at weComm, Accenture and the Objective Software Partnership. Most recently, he was VP of Mobility at OpenText, the global market leader in Business Information Management, with a turnover exceeding US$1.3bn.

weComm, which Oliver co-founded in 1999, developed technologies that enabled web-services developers to build mobile applications for iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile, offering considerable cost-efficiencies over traditional development methods. He was a key part of the management team that developed the company from start-up to become the market leading mobile platform for the finance and media industries, through winning blue chip customers including BBC, BSkyB and Reuters. As a result of its proven technology platform and track record, weComm was acquired by OpenText in 2011.

"EXTEND7000 is the right product at the right time as the whole of the business world seeks to improve workforce efficiency. Appropriate mobile tools are a vital component of that strategy." says Oliver Sturrock, CTO at SCHAD. "This product brings the real-time requirements of a mobile workforce together with the existing systems that support engineering maintenance routines. This is a powerful combination and SCHAD is the only company providing these capabilities today."

"Oliver Sturrock is a highly experienced mobile technology developer and this, combined with his entrepreneurial vision, will enable SCHAD to fulfil its roadmap aspirations and continue enriching the functionality of EXTEND7000", says James Hannay, Managing Director, SCHAD Ltd.
