The industrial mGuard security products from Phoenix Contact can be upgraded by license from firmware 8.1 onwards to include the OPC inspector functionThis premium firmware update provides reliable, secure OPC communication at a high security level, as it passes, analyses, and enables where appropriate. In particular for OPC Classic, the deep packet inspection, defence-in-depth, and segmentation functions are supported through NAT.
The OPC Classic communication protocol is widely used in industry. Traditional firewalls are unable to secure this industrial protocol, which has serious consequences: where OPC Classic is deployed, the movement of data is not regulated with a firewall. This leads to critical vulnerabilites.
