Semta announces new Business Development Director

Semta, the sector skills council for Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies today announces the appointment of Susan Evans as Business Development Director.Susan, who has previously worked at EADS Astrium (formerly Matra Marconi Space) in numerous operational and commercial-facing roles, has significant experience in creating new teams, customer focus and strategic product development. Most recently, Susan worked as Programmes Director for the National Physical Laboratory where she successfully formed and ran a new 'customer focussed' directorate delivering significant year-on-year growth of commercial business.
Commenting on her appointment, Susan Evans said: "This is an important time for the science, engineering and technology sectors and for increasing the focus on the skills for today and the future. Semta has established itself as a leading sector skills council and I am delighted to be joining an organisation that is helping to shape the competitiveness of these industries which are so vital to the UK's global competitiveness."

Susan has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough University, is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and a Member of the Institute of Directors.
