Specialised Imaging Ltd. has today been named as a winner of the UK's most prestigious accolade for business success - The Queen's Awards for Enterprise: Innovation 2016.This award, which also acknowleges the sustained growth in export sales for this product over recent years, recognises the company for its innovation in the development of the Kirana ultra high-speed video camera. This is the second Queen's Award bestowed on Specialised Imaging in the last five years, which bears testament to the Company's success in its ongoing mission to provide the best technical solutions to high-speed imaging problems in the world.
Launched in late 2012, the Kirana is the ultimate ultra-high-speed video camera that combines the flexibility of video technology with the resolution of the ultra high speed framing camera. Incorporating a proprietary UK-designed hybrid image sensor, the compact Kirana can simultaneously deliver high resolution and high speed (up to 5 million frames per second) in a no-compromise design. The full resolution of this video camera is maintained at all speeds. Comprehensive triggering facilities, highly accurate timing control and a wide range of output signals, coupled with a software package that simplifies image capture and analysis. Full remote operation over Ethernet comes as standard, enabling the Kirana to be easily integrated into almost any environment. The Kirana offers the performance, ease-of-use and operational flexibility that enables users to record and deliver impressive slow-motion video images in almost any scientific research application.
The Queen's Awards for Enterprise is an awards programme for British businesses and other organizations who excel at international trade, innovation or sustainable development. They are the highest official UK awards for British businesses.
