Spelsberg continues support for early careers with new apprentice Dean Hunt

Spelsberg UK, an industry leader in cutting-edge electrical enclosures, has continued to foster talent by adding CNC apprentice Dean Hunt to its team.
Dean has had a keen interest in how things work from a young age and joined the business from Telford College – based less than a 10-minute drive from Spelsberg’s offices – where he focused on the hands-on aspects of engineering.
“I enjoyed the practical side of my college course and knew I didn’t want to be in a classroom long term,” he explains. “An apprenticeship just made sense.”
Now working with the CNC, Assembly and warehouse teams at Spelsberg, Dean is enjoying getting to grips with the equipment and day-to-day processes. “It was a bit daunting at first,” he admits. “But once I settled in, I found my rhythm. I’m really enjoying it, It’s all new to me, and I find it fascinating.”
Dean’s interest in Spelsberg was sparked by the high standards he observed during his trial days and interview, especially the team’s focus on quality. “The emphasis on doing things right – that really stood out to me,” he explains. “It matches how I like to work, making sure customers are happy and everything’s done to a high standard.”
Outside of work, Dean enjoys the outdoors, especially climbing and hiking. He recently climbed Snowdon with his dad and a family friend. “It was a great experience,” he says. “We’re still new to it, but I’d love to build up to something more challenging like Ben Nevis one day.”
Dean is also an accomplished martial artist and is on the verge of earning his black belt. “I’m very close now,” he says. “I’m training to become an instructor as well. It’s something I’ve worked really hard on.”
