Through its Filtration and Separation Technology (FaST) product range, SPX offers complete filtration solutions from single basket filters through coalescers, separators, oil mist eliminators (OME) and self-cleaning filters to large, fully packaged skidded solutions. The breadth of filtration and separation products offered by SPX covers wide ranging offshore applications. Airpel and Plenty strainers can provide protection for all types of assets such as valves, pumps and metering equipment. Simple single filters can be used where there is easy access for cleaning and dual basket or self-cleaning units are available where required for operational, process or safety reasons. The self-cleaning filters use scraper blades to remove debris from the filter mesh and deposit it into the bottom of the filter body, from where it can be jettisoned either manually or automatically. Fully automated backflush filters are also available to handle large water flow applications.

Coalescing cartridges, vane units and cyclones are used in SPX separators to meet requirements for efficient removal. Vertical and horizontal coalescers are available to handle fine liquid mists in gas streams and are available with single or two stage construction. Dollinger and Vokes Oil mist eliminators, air intake filters, insulating oil filters and carbon bed filters are also included within the SPX solution portfolio.

The FaST product range incorporates a complete range of filtration media including basket filters, carbon bed filtration, Fibreloc®, synthetic, natural, liquid and gas elements, which are designed and constructed for specific process needs. Filters and separators can be manufactured in a large range of materials including glass reinforced plastics (GRP), super duplex and titanium to provide reliable, long service in harsh seawater and other corrosive environments.
