Thorite MD appointed to Chair EEF Regional Advisory Board

Stephen Wright (51), Managing Director of Thorite, the UK's biggest distributor of pneumatic products and process systems, has been elected to Chair the Yorkshire and Humberside Regional Advisory Board of the Engineering Employers Federation, the long-established major trade association for manufacturers.A rigorous inquisitor of the challenges currently facing manufacturers, Stephen brings over 30 years business experience to his new role. He became involved with the EEF's Executive Council in 2007, which has developed over the years and adopted the title of Regional Advisory Board in 2011. This now meets quarterly to discuss local and national issues affecting manufacturers and feeding back information and proposals to the national EEF organisation.
Speaking of his election Stephen Wright said: "Local manufacturing is in many ways the driving force behind the economic health of our area. I'm delighted to have been selected to Chair the RAB and will do everything I can to assist manufactures create the conditions they require to grow in the difficult trading conditions we have to work with for the foreseeable future."
Bradford-born and proud of his heritage, Stephen is also President of the Bradford Chamber of Commerce, a member of its Board of Directors and of its subsidiary company Business Enterprise Fund. He is also heavily involved in his own industry sector and sits on the Distributor Committee of the British Compressed Air Society.
