TWO NEW MACHINES FOR MOSCA FAN BOXSHOP

Established in 1986, The Boxshop is an owner-managed business which offers a unique combination of capability and expertise in box design and manufacture with unrivalled expertise in packaging management and customer service, and an extensive range of material management and storage services. The company's 80,000ft² manufacturing and warehousing facility is supported by dedicated warehouse and distribution facilities in Aberdeen close to the main motorway network allowing efficient distribution to customers throughout Scotland and Northern England.

The Boxshop was already a fan of Mosca equipment having installed a number of Mosca squarer strappers in the past, so when it needed a further two machines for a new unit at its existing site, the company did not hesitate in contacting Mosca again.

The first machine is an MCB 2 which has been installed at the end of a TCY 9PA case maker. This latest generation fully automated in-line strapper with integrated squaring device ensures smooth bundle control thanks to the latest in brushless DC technology which also provides excellent strap sealer reliability and low maintenance. Fast, automated set up and changeovers deliver a throughput of up to 27 bundles per minute.

The MCB2 has replaced an older Mosca machine, bringing the very latest technology to an existing Mosca set-up. As Managing Director at The Boxshop, David Protheroe, explains, "A Mosca machine is the only one on the market that can keep up with the speed of the high speed case maker, so it was an obvious choice."

The second new Mosca is an ROATRS which has been supplied to follow a Bobst VisionFold speciality gluer machine. Its advanced features for fast and reliable operation include pneumatic press, automatic strap threading, quick release coil dispenser and variable speed conveyor system.

The Boxshop is absolutely delighted with the new Mosca equipment. "We know what we are getting with a Mosca machine; they perform exactly as expected and are great quality and very reliable," says David Protheroe.  "The support we have had from Mosca from the initial stage through to installation has been fantastic. We are very pleased."

Mosca automated strapping machines are based on a modular design and fit easily into existing lines or as part of a new project. They are top of the range German designed and manufactured and are available in the UK from the company's wholly owned subsidiary, Mosca Direct of Cotgrave, Nottingham.
