UAE DELEGATION VISITS CUTTING-EDGE INDUSTRIAL WORKSPACE MILL 19 TO EXPLORE CROSS-BORDER MANUFACTURING OPPORTUNITIES

A high-level delegation of government and industry leaders from the United Arab Emirates has attended an exclusive site visit to Mill 19, a leading industrial and innovation hub in the City of Pittsburgh, on the final day of the inaugural US edition of the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS America).

The UAE visit was led by H.E. Omar Al Suwaidi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology. He was joined by UAE industry leaders from Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, ICT Fund, the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce & Industry, and Dubai Industrial City, as well as a team member from the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.

Mill 19 is a discovery workspace where Carnegie Mellon researchers and innovators partner with industry pioneers to advanced and pursue digital innovations, advanced manufacturing technologies, and human intelligence to the production lines and supply chains of the future. The workplace features an additive manufacturing laboratory, a cutting-edge, high-tech workshop, and advanced industrial facilities, and is home to some of the world’s most innovative advanced technology solutions.

The inaugural GMIS America roadshow, held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is hosted by the Honorable Thomas Wolf, Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and convened more than 70 expert speakers and 250 participants from governments and the private sector and academia from around the world.
