ULTIMATE GREEN TEAM - NEWEY & EYRE BRANCH GAINS NEW ENVIRONMENTAL ACCREDITATION

Leading electrical wholesaler, Newey & Eyre's Heaton branch has been awarded with the prestigious Environmental Certification ISO14001.To achieve the certification, the branch had to demonstrate its on-going commitment to environmental best practice. Part of that process was considering energy consumption at the branch and finding ways of reducing it, as well as looking at processes that impact the environment, for example waste. In light of this, the Heaton branch chose to implement a new recycling system, ensuring that they could avoid sending by-products to landfill.
Taking around six months to complete, the accreditation process included internal audits by Rexel's safety and environment manager, Chris Beasley, with the final checks carried out by the company's certification body.
Chris Beasley comments: "The Heaton branch's new accreditation demonstrates the team's commitment to the environment. Now the team not only promotes sustainability through their product offer, they now also practice it.
"Gaining this fantastic accreditation is the direct result of a great team effort from everyone at the branch who showed such enthusiasm for improving environmental performance during the assessment.
"ISO14001 proves we have passed the ultimate test in terms of environmental best practice and we look forward to working on gaining this accreditation at our other branches.
