University seeks companies for global research project

The University of Bath is looking for employees of manufacturing companies to help with an international research project that is investigating how we develop effective global leaders.The project is setting out to understand how global leadership competencies are learned through international experience and will analyse learning methods for effectively developing global leaders.
The research team is looking for around 20 people from five or six companies in the UK to take part in a secure online survey (20 to 25 minutes to complete) in October and November 2011.
The research is being done in collaboration with international research partners from leading universities in 12 countries and across three continents.
Each company that takes part will receive an executive summary of results which will provide an international comparison and a comparison between the UK companies, and can discuss the data with Russ Vince, Professor of Leadership and Change at Bath, who is leading the project.
The data generated from participating companies and respondents will be encoded and specific company and individual information will not be disclosed externally.
To take part in the survey employees will need to work for a company in the manufacturing industry; hold at least a position as team leader; and have worked in an international business environment within the last three years.
The research is led by the Global Human Resources Development Study Group, which is a joint research organization of the University of Tsukuba, the Graduate School of Business Sciences and the Institute for International Business Communication in Japan.
