WEG attends National Drive Technology Day

Mobile and maritime drive technology presented at Netherlands show

Global motor and drive manufacturer, WEG will be showcasing its new CFW900 variable speed drive (VSD) and WMagnet permanent magnet motor at the National Drive Technology Day. The one-day event, hosted in collaboration with Aandrijftechniek magazine, will be held on Thursday September 15, 2022, at LOC 17, Doesburg, Netherlands.

Following on from previous virtual editions of the event, the National Drive Technology Day will take place as a live show for the very first time this year. The theme of the 2022 event is ‘Developments in mobile and maritime drive technology.’

The program of events includes a keynote speech on developing a highly efficient drive train, followed by six technical presentations from leading companies who are working on new drive technology themselves. These presentations will cover innovative topics such as marine power and energy systems, electrification and non-road mobile machinery.

In addition to the presentation schedule, there will be ample opportunity to network with leading professionals working in the drive technology field and explore the latest product developments from various partner organisations. WEG will be on hand to demonstrate the capabilities of its CFW900 VSD.

“This model is the latest addition to the well-established CFW range of frequency inverters,” explained Martijn Brinks, sales and marketing manager at WEG Netherlands. “It boasts a simplified design, increased power density and improved ease-of-use that allows the user to access configurations and technical data in a fast and straightforward way. The advanced features and compact nature of the CFW900 makes it perfect for demanding applications, like those found in mobile and maritime applications.”

Alongside its drive technology, WEG will be showing the WMagnet permanent magnet motor. This series of motors features magnets that are inserted into the rotor and ensure a great reduction of electric losses, and decreased motor temperature, enabling smaller frame sizes. The motors are specially designed to operate in applications such as pumps, compressors and conveyor belts that require reduced vibrations and noise level, high efficiency in all speed variations and where space is restricted.

The Drive Technology Day will take place from 9:00 - 16:00 on Thursday September 15, 2022, at LOC 17, Doesburg, Netherlands. If you’d like to find out more about WEG’s technology for the mobile and marine sectors, visit the company’s booth at the event or navigate to the WEG website.
