WEG to present motors and digital solutions at the Water Equipment Show 2026

Motor technologies support energy-efficient, future-ready water operations ~

Global motor, drive and automation manufacturer WEG will showcase its innovations for the water and wastewater sector at the Water Equipment Show 2026, taking place on May 14, 2026 at the Telford International Centre, Telford, UK. At stand S22, WEG will demonstrate how advanced motor design, intelligent drives and digital tools can help water operators reduce energy consumption and optimise system performance.

The Water Equipment Show is one of the UK’s leading exhibitions for water and wastewater equipment, services and solutions, bringing together suppliers and professionals from across the industry.

At the show, WEG will present the W22 motor range, including Water Industry Mechanical and Electrical Specifications (WIMES)-compliant variants. Designed for reliability, durability and ease of maintenance, the W22 range supports critical applications such as pumping and recirculation while delivering energy efficiency and long service life.

WEG will also present the new W22 Prime IE5 induction motor — a major step forward in high-efficiency motor technology. Achieving IE5 energy efficiency, W22 Prime significantly reduces energy consumption and CO? emissions.

Compatible with both direct-on-line (DOL) operation and variable speed drives (VSDs), the W22 Prime offers exceptional flexibility for both fixed and variable-speed applications. Available in a power range from 11 to 1,000 kW and with a three-year warranty as standard, it is designed to support the water sector’s energy transition without compromising on robustness or reliability.

Other products on display will be the W23 Sync+  motor, paired with the CFW900 variable speed drive (VSD). This motor offers exceptional efficiency thanks to its hybrid technology, exceeding the predicted IE6 efficiency levels. Visitors can also learn more about the W80 AXgen high-efficiency motor, a compact solution with high power density, making it suitable for energy-intensive processes like pumping. It offers a footprint up to 80 per cent smaller than traditional motors while maintaining high power-to-size efficiency, making it ideal for space-constrained installations.

The motor is available in a power range from 5.5 to 220 kW in a single configuration and up to 440 kW in a stackable configuration, offering flexibility and scalability for a wide range of industrial and water applications.

WEG will also feature its CFW500 variable speed drive with Pump Genius software. The platform automates pressure and flow control effectively and precisely in water and wastewater operations, effectively turning the VSD into a smart pumping system.

Attendees can also learn about WEGSEE+, WEG’s innovative software tool for sustainability analysis and energy management. It enables businesses to accurately assess emissions and energy savings potential, allowing them to take control of their resource efficiency and make smarter, data driven decisions.

Visitors can also learn more about WEG’s Motion Fleet Management (MFM) system. MFM is a cloud-based system for condition monitoring of assets using WEGscan and Gateway technologies to enable predictive maintenance and real-time performance insights.

“The water and wastewater industry faces many unique challenges. Energy-intensive processes, harsh operating environments and ageing infrastructure all present technical obstacles, and at The Water Equipment Show we will demonstrate how innovation in motor design and digital technology can support businesses to overcome these pressures,” said Marek Lukaszczyk, UK & Middle East marketing manager at WEG. “With advanced motors like the new W22 Prime and the ultra-compact W80, we are helping the water sector to reduce energy use, simplify maintenance and build a more sustainable, resilient water infrastructure.”

Visitors will be able to speak with WEG’s experts and learn how high-efficiency motors, intelligent drives and digital solutions can support long-term operational and sustainability goals.
