Moxa�'s SafetyNETp certified Dual-Radio Wireless Access Point/Bridge/Client AWK-5222 is a flexible and highly reliable solution for industrial wireless networks. With two independent radio modules the compliant AWK-5222 supports various wireless configurations and applications. Especially the Moxa-owned radio redundancy mode that increases the reliability of the entire network by sending redundant packet data across different frequencies allows for stable radio communication.
"AWK-5222 offers two radio modules that enable two independent wireless connections. Due to the dual band radio cards, both support the IEEE 802.11a/b/g standards and enable maximum flexibility. For example, in radio redundancy mode a packet can be sent parallel on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. This virtually makes the wireless system immune against interference. If one of the connections fails due to interference, the other connection keeps up duty between the redundant access points and the redundant client devices", explains Lars Jaeger, Business Development Manager Industrial Wireless at Moxa Europe.
Another advantage of the duplicate dual band cards is the possibility to build wireless bridges. In contrast to the commercial WDS (Wireless Distribution System) mode the wireless bridge uses both radio cards to build master-slave connections on the left and on the right hand side. This type of bridge can achieve a high throughput independent of the nodes. As the master radio cards can also serve as access points and integrate additional clients into the network, a deterministic mesh structure can be built.
Thanks to WEP/WPA/WPA2 Encryption, IEEE 802.1X/RADIUS authentication, the activation/ deactivation of SSID Broadcasts and powerful filters for access control, AWK-5222 offers enhanced security. The standard model�'s operating temperature is 0 to 60°C, and wide temperature models for industrial use at -40 to 75°C are available. Industrial QoS and VLAN ensure efficient data management, and integrated digital inputs/ outputs enable onsite monitoring and alarms.
Due to its highly reliable WLAN performance and its unique redundancy feature, AWK-5222 is SafetyNETp certified, and it has been deployed in many mission critical wireless applications already.
Serial to Wireless Device Server NPort W2150A/W2250A
Moxa�'s serial to wireless device servers NPort W2150A/W2250A feature the Ethernet to wireless bridging function that combines all advantages of an Ethernet to wireless server in the same device. With this device server, CNC machines can safely and easily be connected to an Ethernet network via wireless DNC.
