Wizard menu conjures up frequency converter success

The key to the success of the VLT® Refrigeration FC 103; a drive designed specifically to suit compressors, fans and pumps in any kind of refrigeration application (both commercial and industrial), is its friendliness. Not only is it friendly to the environment, but thanks to the new built-in wizard menu it is friendly to engineers too.Global Business Development Director, Abdelhak Dhabi, explains further. "One of our main aims in creating the product was that the commissioning engineer should not have to keep referring to an instruction manual. This VLT® Refrigeration FC 103 drive ensures that through its built-in wizard menu".
The VLT® Refrigeration FC 103 drive is the first drive in the industry to offer a setup wizard, using common refrigeration terms rather than computer language. During field testing, the ease of programming made installers and service technicians feel more comfortable and confident; whilst making their jobs easier and quicker.
The in-built compressor pack controller, which means less components and wiring, can be installed by a refrigeration engineer in five minutes thanks to the wizard menu."
The wizard menu also supports the commissioning engineers if they encounter any problems. The menu will help the engineer troubleshoot and offer 'quick fixes' to get the drive up and running if there is a problem. "The wizard-driven commissioning menu structure is unique and uses plain language, which allows the customer to interact with it" said Abdelhak
The menu structure clearly has the potential to be utilised in industries other than the Food Retail segment for which it was initially envisaged.
